Definition of Blood

• Blood is a specialized fluid connective tissue. 

It is composed of cells, which are called formed elements and the liquid protion known as plasma.

Properties of blood

1. Colour: Red (due to haemoglobin).
2. Volume: Average volume of blood in normal asual is 5L
3. PH : 7.4
4. Specific gravity : of total blood is 1.5052 to 1.061 
5. Viscosity : Blood is 5 times more viscous than water.
